See Him In Color: Mercury and Jamey Johnson are staging the "Downtown Shutdown" during CRS, closing 5th Avenue and Commerce outside the Nashville Convention Center Wednesday (3/4). Johnson will perform a free and open-to-the-public set beginning at
11:30am, weather permitting, with complimentary food and drink on hand. The show should wrap in time for CRS attendees to get back in the building for the day's
luncheon performance.


Text & Effects: Big Machine's Taylor Swift and Verizon Wireless have partnered for a
text-based concert contest. The U.S. high school student body with the most texts of
"TS" to "3401" using Verizon phones gets a free Swift concert on their campus.
Texting closes March 23. Entries can also be entered here.


Life Note: Our thoughts and prayers are with singer/songwriter/producer Buddy
Miller, who is recovering from triple-bypass surgery. He suffered a heart attack
Friday (2/20) in Baltimore, while on the 3 Girls And Their Buddy tour with Patty
Griffin, Emmylou Harris and Shawn Colvin.
