February 24, 2009 See Him In Color: Mercury and Jamey Johnson are staging the "Downtown Shutdown" during CRS, closing 5th Avenue and Commerce outside the Nashville Convention Center Wednesday (3/4). Johnson will perform a free and open-to-the-public set beginning at11:30am, weather permitting, with complimentary food and drink on hand. The show should wrap in time for CRS attendees to get back in the building for the day's luncheon performance. Text & Effects: Big Machine's Taylor Swift and Verizon Wireless have partnered for a text-based concert contest. The U.S. high school student body with the most texts of "TS" to "3401" using Verizon phones gets a free Swift concert on their campus. Texting closes March 23. Entries can also be entered here.
